Standard Rooms

Please support MPA by staying at the Palmer House. Staying at the Palmer House helps keep our membership and registration fees low. It is also a beautiful place to stay! The standard room rate at the Palmer House for the 2012 meeting of the Midwestern Psychological Association is $209 + tax per night for a room with one or two beds, and an additional $25 per night for each additional person in the room. The best way to make a reservation at the Palmer House is to do so online.

You can also call 1-800-HILTONS (1-800-445-8667) or call the Hotel directly 312-726-7500. You can also write to the Palmer House, 17 East Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois 60603. If you call or write, you must mention your connection with MPA to get the convention rate for your room.

It important for the financial stability of MPA for members to book rooms in the Palmer House, as a certain number of sleeping rooms must be used by attendees, in order to keep MPA from paying fees for our meeting rooms and penalties for under booking sleeping rooms. It is very important that you stay at the Palmer House and let the Palmer House know you are there for MPA - even if you don't book at the convention rate.

Student Rooms

There is a small block of $139 + tax rooms available for reservation on the link above. These are the small “studio” sleeping rooms that some members have encountered when they checked into their rooms during past meetings of MPA. The Palmer House has agreed to this reduced room rate to help students who attend the meeting, particularly students who have no financial support for their attendance at the meeting, to help keep down the cost of their attendance at the meeting. There is no way to block people from booking these rooms. Booking of these rooms is on the honor system. Please do not book these reduced-rate studio rooms unless you are a student with minimal or no financial support for your attendance at MPA.

Please email Phil Finney (MPA's Convention Manager) about any problems with the registration.
