MPA Annual Meeting - General Information

Registration for the Meeting

Registration is free to members; if your dues are paid, a preprinted badge will await you on site. Nonmembers must pay a $50 registration fee (students pay $20) to receive a name tag and a program. Please note that for those with a Ph.D. it is less expensive to become a member than to register for the meeting as a non-member. A membership application can be found here. MPA does not issue refunds for dues payments or for preregistration for the meeting.

Psi Chi and Undergraduate Student Registration

Information about advance online registration for Psi Chi members who are currently undergraduate students, and other undergraduates is available at this link.

Graduate students can either join MPA or register as nonmembers at the meeting.

Registration for those who are not currently students


Individuals who are neither students nor members of MPA may register at this link.

Onsite Registration: Onsite registration is available in the Upper Exhibit Hall at the Palmer House. A badge and program will be given to you at that time. Onsite registration for undergraduates and graduate students is $25.

Please note that you will need a check or cash to register onsite. We will not be able to process credit card payments at the meeting.

Registration Times:

Thursday-8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Friday-8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Saturday-8:30 am to 11:30 am

Hotel Information

Eligibility to Present Papers at MPA

Members of MPA, including those who complete their application for membership prior to submission, may present papers and organize symposia at the meeting. Nonmembers may present a paper if a co-author is a member or if they are sponsored by a member. Undergraduates should submit papers based on their own work to the Psi Chi and Undergraduate Program (see above).

Nominations for Speakers and Moderators

If you would like to nominate individuals to be invited speakers or to give invited papers, or to nominate your self as a paper session moderator, email the program moderator. Further details about speakers and moderators can be found here.

Affiliated Meetings

Three meetings are held in conjuction with MPA, APA Division 27, CTUP, and Psi Chi. CTUP is the Council of Teachers of Undergraduate Psychology, Division 27 is The Society for Community Research and Action, and Psi Chi the national honorary society for undergraduates in Psychology. Presenters at affiliated meetings need not be members of MPA to present, although they must register for the MPA meeting to attend. Further information can be found here.

Placement Services at the Meeting


MPA no longer offers a placement service at the annual meeting.
